We operate on King’s Bay in Crystal River, Florida. Crystal River is on the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 1.5 hours north of Tampa Bay and 2 hours west of Orlando.
Manatee season is November through April each year. We have the highest concentration of manatees in the winter months as the manatees seek refuge in King’s Bay from the cold ocean waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
The Crystal River and King’s Bay combine to form one of the most complex and unique natural resources in the State of Florida. This system derives its water source from a network of over 30 major – and thousands of minor springs. These springs discharge millions of gallons of fresh water into King’s Bay each day – all at 72 degrees.
